dairy in India: En route another revolution
The organic food industry has grown remarkably over the past
few years all over the world. However, growth in the organic
dairy sector has been slow but steady. With the concept of
‘wellness’ taking firm roots and increasing incidences
of livestock diseases, there is considerable interest about
organic dairy farming across the globe. India, being the largest
milk-producing nation in the world, has a huge potential to
develop organic dairy market. In this article, Divakar Rao

Rao, CEO, DGK BioAgroFoods, has done MSc in food technology,
from FAO International Food Technology Training Centre. He
has worked in the areas of quality assurance, R&D and
processing. He was heading the biotechnology sectoral development
in Karnataka as CEO of the Karnataka Biotechnology Development
Council for four years. He has been involved with overall
management and successful implementation of integrated dairy
